Tomáš Kahoun Appointed as a New Member of the Board of Directors of the Financial Market Guarantee System, Petr Frydrych Becomes Vice-Chairman
Prague, April 1, 2025 - The Minister of Finance has appointed Tomáš Kahoun as a new member of the Board of Directors of the Financial Market Guarantee System. He replaces Radek Urban, who is moving to the Single Resolution Board of the European Union.
The newly appointed board member, Tomáš Kahoun, serves as the Head of the Resolution Division in the Financial Markets and Resolution Department of the Czech National Bank. His mandate will last until January 2026.
The Minister of Finance has also appointed a new Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Financial Market Guarantee System. This role has been assigned to the current Board member, Petr Frydrych, Deputy Director of the Financial Markets and Resolution Department of the Czech National Bank. His mandate as Vice-Chairman will last until January 2030.
"The Board of Directors is the highest governing body of the Financial Market Guarantee System. In addition to overseeing its operations, the board is also responsible for approving the budget, annual reports, significant public contracts, and appointing the three-member Executive Board, which consists of Financial Market Guarantee System employees," explains Renáta Kadlecová, Executive Director of the Financial Market Guarantee System.
The Financial Market Guarantee System manages total assets of CZK 88 billion, with CZK 48.9 billion currently held in the Deposit Insurance Fund and CZK 39.1 billion in the Crisis Resolution Fund.
